I Presented at the 255th ACS National Meeting!

Presenting Two Posters:

Late last year I was excited to submit and have approved two distinct abstracts to give poster presentations at the ACS' 255th National Meeting. Since then, I had been really excited for March to come around sooner. After what seemed to me a long wait, I couldn't have been more excited to travel to New Orleans, LA to finally participate in the conference. Not only did I present two posters, but I was also able to learn a lot of neat things and connect with other talented chemists from all around the world.

Poster Presentations

I presented two distinct posters at three different times during the conference. Specifically, the projects discussed were the subject of my 1. iREU research project The Functionalization of the Primary Rim of alpha-cyclodextrin for Practical Application, and 2. The Self-assembly of Carbon Macrocycles through Alkene Metathesis. I presented the first project in the Chemical Education (CHED) session, and the latter project in both Sci-Mix and the Organic Chemistry (ORGN) poster sessions. Lucky for me, my posters gained a good amount of attention!

Aside from presenting, I also had the chance to listen to talks given by faculty and/or graduate students from groups I closely follow, nameley Dr. Lei Fang and Dr. Robert H. Grubbs whom presented talks titled "Constructing Extended Pi-conjugated Systems using Dynamic Bonds" and "Development and Applications of Selective Olefin Metathesis Catalysts".
