I Presented at the 255th ACS National Meeting
An archived conference update about presenting two posters at the 255th American Chemical Society National Meeting.
Presenting two posters
Late last year, I was excited to submit and have approved two distinct abstracts for poster presentations at the ACS 255th National Meeting. Since then, I had been really excited for March to come around. After what felt like a long wait, I could not have been more excited to travel to New Orleans, Louisiana, to participate in the conference.
Not only did I present two posters, but I was also able to learn a lot of neat things and connect with talented chemists from around the world.
Poster presentations
I presented two distinct posters at three different times during the conference. Specifically, the projects discussed were my iREU research project, “The Functionalization of the Primary Rim of alpha-Cyclodextrin for Practical Application,” and “The Self-Assembly of Carbon Macrocycles through Alkene Metathesis.” I presented the first project in the Chemical Education (CHED) session, and the latter project in both Sci-Mix and the Organic Chemistry (ORGN) poster sessions.
Lucky for me, my posters gained a good amount of attention.
Aside from presenting, I also had the chance to listen to talks given by faculty and graduate students from groups I closely follow, namely Dr. Lei Fang and Dr. Robert H. Grubbs. Their talks were titled “Constructing Extended Pi-conjugated Systems using Dynamic Bonds” and “Development and Applications of Selective Olefin Metathesis Catalysts.”
